Is your article hiding among millions of others, difficult to find and not being read as a result? If it is, you’re not alone; great research can go relatively unnoticed if it’s not highlighted and indexed in the right way. Since Google only wants to deliver the best possible results to its users, it will push sites with strong engagement up in the search engine results pages (SERPs). Blogging is one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to improve search rankings. So, how to start?

Sometimes pages are no longer available and content is permanently removed from a website. When that happens, website visitors land on a 404 error page. Double-check the links on your website to ensure pages haven’t been taken down without your knowledge. Dynamic serving takes a different approach. It uses server-side technology to serve a different version of your site to mobile users, depending on the way they access your site. The URL stays the same, but the files sent differ completely.

People don’t read on the web; they scan. To make scanning easier, use plenty of clear and informative sub-headers to guide readers down a page. Linking to highly popular
or trusted websites, news pages, blogs and message boards is an excellent way to add credibility to your own website. If you’re pulling proof for the claims you make from sources which a majority of other people already trust, it can only help you to make more conversions from your website visitors and ultimately lead to an increase in sales. Sometimes, all that you need are five to 10 relevant links, from authoritative sites, to begin seeing results from Google and other search engines. Content marketing has always been crucial but it is no longer enough to research several industry keywords, place them on your blog and rely on affiliate network to post links back to your site.

When website copy contains a wider variety of terms and keywords all relative to the same topic, it appears more natural, resulting in higher rankings. The content flows naturally, more like a conversation you might have with someone. Giving your personal opinion and opening up a little bit goes a long way towards creating rapport with your audience. Like many things, of course, don’t overdo it!
