TD-IDF means that content should include different phrases and that some of those phrases should appear more frequently than others. Mobile SEO is a challenge for digital marketers. The screen being small and of low resolution hinders searches from scrolling down to the bottom of a page, let alone be going to the next page. Links from trustworthy sites signal to search engines that your site is trustworthy too. Effective link building is now about trust and popularity. Only a high-quality backlink works in this model. Mobile traffic is important. People are searching and reading on their mobile devices more than ever. What does that mean for your copy? Do you need to write differently if you’re aiming at a ‘mobile’ audience? How do you tackle copywriting for mobile?
Keywords are no longer necessary for high rankings
SEO means Search Engine Optimization – and refers to the process of creating and modifying a website so that it gets more traffic from Google and other search engines. SEO used to be simple and you could just write your keyword over and over again, but has become more complex over the years. Today, obtaining links is
much more than just link building; it’s a part of a content marketing, strategic marketing, public relations and social media effort to get in front of the audiences that matter most. Facebook and Twitter are two of the highest traffic referral sources for some sites, so be sure that you have profiles and are active regularly on both. People love to know about companies, so share company events, company awards, employee new hires, and most importantly, share information related to your industry that is not related to your company often. No one wants to talk to someone that consistently talks about their-self. Google uses your meta data to interpret what your website is about and ranks the pages accordingly. While it is important to have your keywords within the meta data, it can be overdone and hinder the user experience, actually deterring people away from a page rather than enticing. This happens when your meta title and description is written for Google’s search bots rather than as a description for real people.
Making Websites More Visible
Type in your keyphrases. At least look at the first page (the top 10) and see what everyone else has in their description tags. Does it look like they’re being pulled from the copy on their pages? Google’s web indexing system
favors recently updated content, especially for time-sensitive searches. Longer search phrases are the natural progression of the Internet population boom. As more and more information is placed online, it becomes increasingly difficult to find exactly what you're looking for. Get people talking about your brand, and mentioning it on their website, or any website for that matte
The most important part of SEO is link building
Mobile friendliness is an important ranking factor for search rankings. More and more users are using their mobile devices to surf the internet. In some areas, over 70% of users visit websites on mobile. What does this mean for you? Every sitepage should be optmized for mobile. Every. Single. One. The focus on the right audience and the right content brings an understanding of the content that they’re more likely to consume. SEO is all about getting more search visibility, yet there's no way I (or anyone else) can guarantee you a certain ranking or position for any specific keyword. There are too many variables at play, even with keyword and competitive research in hand. According to Gaz Hall, a UK SEO Consultant
: "A Google study showed that more than 80% of users
search stores and local service providers online before
visiting them. This fact makes it important to optimize your
website for the local search. The online visit is a basis for
more customers and more sales."
Find out who is linking to your site
Over the past 10 years, search has gotten a whole lot better. If you’ve been in the industry long enough, you remember the days of keyword stung articles and link building. You should ensure that
the first paragraph or so of text on your web page is entirely relevant to what your site is about. Sometimes search engines take the first paragraph or first few sentences even of your website page and use that for their description of your web page. Also, in terms of the text on your web page it is often good to place limits on the length of how much text that you put on a web page. A suggested lower bound would be 300 words and an upper boundary of about 750 words. Ensuring that your piece of content explores the topic fully across many relevant sub-topics, and doesn’t only provide a thin/generic answer, will help with discovery and perceived value. In business, regardless of the particular field, it has always been a good idea to look around and see what competitors are doing, then try to apply what’s working for them to one’s own website.
