Create a list of the top 10 keywords for which you want to achieve rankings. Do a search once a month on Google and see where you stand in the rankings. Keep a record of the ranking and you will be able to see the progress of your SEO efforts. Note jumps by more than five places in the ranking, because these changes are not usually due just to normal changes and search engine updates. Putting effort into the offline promotion of your company or site can also be rewarding. For example, if you have a business site, make sure its URL is listed on your business cards, letterhead, posters, etc. You could also send out recurring newsletters to clients through the mail letting them know about new content on the company's website. Don’t try to act smart. There are some plugins which allows you to add no follow in external links. If you have applied no follow on the link of your blog, it will be given the priority. You cannot use do follow and no follow simultaneously. This won’t be helpful. Don’t change your URLs if you don’t have to. Certainly, don’t modify URL structure for minor tweaks.

Anchor text is still a huge ranking signal

The biggest SEO mistake you can make during a website redesign is to not think about SEO until it’s too late. If you don’t have SEO in mind from the initial strategy session, you’re going to lose what you took so much time and effort to build. You’re ultimately looking to rank for keywords that will bring value to your business (i.e., those bringing traffic that will convert into leads and customers). You, therefore, have to target keywords with relevant intent. Because the number of links pointing to your website substantially impacts your SEO rankings (the more high-quality links you have, the better), link building is one of the best SEO tactics. An effective link building strategy involves providing guest post content and infographics to other websites. Titles display what your page is about to both visitors and search engine crawlers, while meta descriptions summarize the content of your page. Your title tags and meta descriptions must include the keywords you are trying to rank for.

A Few Reasons Why These Algorithms Sometimes Fail

Organic SEO is a lengthy process. Not because it’s complicated to implement (though it can be), but because tracking what works versus what doesn’t requires a least a few months’ worth of results to analyze. Plus, you need numbers! Traffic. It’s tough to track what’s working if you don’t have a consistent flow of online visitors leaving digital footprints for you to analyze. When you think about keywords what are they really? It’s an interesting thing to think about isn’t it, for one thing, keywords are usually short and common. Because people won’t often type in long sentences into search engines. If your target is international try to get links from sites hosted in as many different countries as possible. The same is true if you target local audiences, get as many links from sites hosted in the country you target. Some users might link to your page using the URL of that page as the anchor text. If your URL contains relevant words, this provides users and search engines with more information about the page than an ID or oddly named parameter would.

The Three Pillars of SEO: Authority, Relevance, and Trust

Google prefers fresh content. An older page that’s regularly updated may outperform a newer page. While uncovering and fixing technical issues has always been an important part of SEO, in the wake of Panda and Penguin, technical SEO has moved closer to the forefront. If a site, or specific page, has a lot of backlinks pointing to it, Google then sees this page or site as credible. This is only true, though, if those backlinks are coming from quality, reputable sources, and it’s even better when those sites are relevant to your site. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "On page optimization is very essential to gain visibility in the search results as without optimizing your on page factors, you won’t be found in the Search Engines."

Brainstorming and Keyword Generating

Reacting to reviews appears to be a wise thing to do. That does not mean you should respond to every single review. In my opinion, you should react to negative reviews. Responding to negative reviews will show potential customers how you handle problems and solve solutions to dissatisfied customers. There are other things that you can do to get contextual links, such as guest bloggingand mentioning other sites in your content (and letting them know about it). SEO and content marketing are two different processes. You could describe the main difference like this: SEO is narrow and technical, while content marketing is broad and holistic. Link signals tend to decay over time. Sites that were once popular often go stale, and eventually fail to earn new links.
